About the Family

This family's visas were issued by Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 11, 1940.

The GREGORY family members crossed into Portugal and subsequently sailed on the ship Exochorda from Lisbon to New York in October 1940.

The IPEKDJIAN family members were unable to cross the border with the others, perhaps because they held "Nansen" passports. They managed to enter Portugal in October 1940 and sailed on the ship Siboney in March 1941, rejoining the GREGORY family in New York.

The HATCHIKOFF family members remained in Europe and resided in Belgium after the war.
