Join us for a unique Educators’ Institute in Portugal! Learn the story of the Portuguese hero Aristides de Sousa Mendes, who saved thousands of Jews from the Holocaust and paid a heavy personal price. Deepen your knowledge of rescue and resistance during the Holocaust and the value of moral courage and standing up for others. While starting and ending in Lisbon, our workshop will be based at the new Aristides de Sousa Mendes Museum in bucolic Cabanas de Viriato in the heart of the country. From there, we will combine classroom learning, lectures and film screenings with field trips to sites all over Portugal including Porto, Vilar Formoso, Belmonte and more.* Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available!

The cost of the workshop is $2950 and includes all nights of hotel (double occupancy), most meals, all transportation within Portugal, all museum admissions, film screenings and educational resources listed below.
