About the Family
The HERZ family, German Jews, were imprisoned in the Cours du Médoc internment camp in Bordeaux, France in June 1940. The entire camp requested and received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.
In August 1942 they were deported from Drancy to Auschwitz, where they were murdered.
