About the Family
The OESTERREICHER family received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on May 17, 1940.
They crossed into Portugal and stayed in Figueira da Foz before relocating to Estoril. They subsequently sailed on the ship Magallanes from Lisbon to Havana, Cuba on January 11, 1941. In April 1941 they sailed on the ship Monterey from Cuba to New York.
