Educational materials

The Sousa Mendes Foundation has created a PowerPoint and Curricular Unit to aid teachers of grades 6-12 include the story of a rescuer, Aristides de Sousa Mendes, in their Holocaust unit. These items, including lesson plans, support teachers’ efforts to help students understand that one person can make a difference, even in extreme circumstances. These materials, available to teachers free of charge, promote Holocaust awareness, compassion for refugees, and an understanding of moral courage.
