About the Family
The DRUCKER couple, German Jews, were imprisoned in the Cours du Médoc internment camp in Bordeaux, France in June 1940. The entire camp requested and received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.
They crossed into Portugal and sailed in November 1940 on the vessel Nyassa from Lisbon to New York, where they were detained.
They proceeded to Ecuador and returned to New York on vessel Imperial in April 1941.
