About the Family

The FISCHER family from Vienna was living in Porto, Portugal in the summer of 1940, presumably after having received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux, France.

In Portugal they reunited with Leopold FISCHER, husband of Elise and father of Hans and Jeannette. Together they sailed in late 1940 to Lourenço Marques, now Maputo.
