About the Family
The GRAB family received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 14 and 15, 1940.
They crossed into Portugal and sailed from Lisbon to New York on the Nyassa in December 1940.
Hermann GRAB was a novelist and music critic. Nelly GRABOVA became a prominent fashion designer under the name Nelly DE GRAB, and her son Richard DE GRAB became a prominent photographer.
