About the Family
The GRINSZPAN family received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 18, 1940.
They crossed into Portugal, where they resided in Porto. They traveled from Lisbon to Havana and Jamaica, where they spent the war years. In 1946 they emigrated to the United States and took the spelling GRINSPAN.
