Fanny HASKEL, also known as Fany HASKELOVA and Fanny HASKELL, received a visa from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on May 29, 1940 after having been explicitly denied by Salazar, the Portuguese head of state.
She crossed into Portugal and sailed from Lisbon to New York on the Serpa Pinto in December 1941.
