The JOSPE family received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 18, 1940.
They crossed into Portugal. Marthe and Roger JOSPE sailed from Lisbon to New York on the Excambion in September 1941. Alexandre JOSPE flew on the Pan Am Dixie Clipper seaplane from Lisbon to New York in November 1941.
