This could be John J. KENNEDY, age 41, accompanying Ambassador Joseph P. KENNEDY on a flight from Lisbon to New York on the Pan Am Atlantic Clipper seaplane in October 1940. Presumably Ambassador KENNEDY, with his diplomatic passport, did not need a visa.
