About the Family
The LIPPMANN brothers, German Jews, were imprisoned in the Cours du Médoc internment camp in Bordeaux, France in June 1940. The entire camp requested and received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.
However, the brothers were unable to leave France and were subsequently interned in Rivesaltes and then sent to Drancy. From there they were deported on September 16, 1942, together with their sister Ruth LIPPMANN, to Auschwitz, where they all perished.
