About the Family
The LUSTIG family received visas under the authority Aristides de Sousa Mendes in France in June of 1940.
They crossed into Portugal and sailed from Lisbon to Cuba in June 1941, Another daughter, Hadassa/Hela LUSTIG, was born in Cuba in 1941. In 1945 they emigrated to the United States.
Sarah LUSTIG GOODMAN and Hadassa LUSTIG GOLDBERG have published a book entitled Fleeing Europe which chronicles their exodus.
