About the Individual
Jeanne ONNOU received a visa from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 20, 1940.
She crossed into Portugal and flew on the Yankee Clipper seaplane from Lisbon to New York in August 1940.
In the United States she joined her husband Alphonse Onnou, violinist with the Pro Arte String Quartet, who died shortly thereafter.
