About the Family

The PITZELE family resided in Portugal in the summer of 1940, presumably after having obtained visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

They traveled from Lisbon to New York in two groups: Sara and Schulem on the vessel Exeter in November of 1940, and Henri and Isabelle on the Lourenço Marques in February of 1941.
