About the Family

The SCHENKELBACH couple is presumed to have received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in France in June 1940.

They crossed into Portugal where they resided in Lisbon. In January of 1941 they sailed on the vessel Lourenço Marques from Lisbon to New York.
