About the Family

Robert WURMFELD, a Czech journalist, and his mother Berta resided in Porto, Portugal in the summer of 1940, presumably after receiving visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

Robert traveled on the vessel Nea Hellas from Lisbon to New York in August 1940, and Berta followed on the ship Exeter in November of that year.
